A few months ago, my good friends over at High Performance Movement held a special SUP/run/yoga event. They are a huge component of the #freefitness movement here in San Diego, hosting a free Friday night run club called FRUN. One of the most interesting things that I've witnessed in the past year is how the free fitness community has grown in San Diego. Yes, many more options exist now than they ever have before. Yes, you can find a free run club or yoga class or bootcamp every day if you look hard enough. But what has been most interesting is watching the connections develop and the community build. If you attend November Project, or #runluluLJ (the lululemon La Jolla run club), or Milestone Running's Wednesday night run, or FRUN on Friday, you'll see many of the same faces. Not only members attending all of the workouts but also the organizers/founders/owners of the different groups attending each other's workouts. There is no competition. We understand that the stronger the community we build, the more it benefits each and every one of us. It's really quite amazing to not only see, but to be a part of.
That being said, the times when we meet people who aren't "regulars" are at events like HP Movement's SUP/run/yoga night. Many of those people do become regulars, but that's beside the point.
This is where I met Lucas. After succesfully recruiting him to NP (he may call it bullying) and watching him become a regular there, I found out that he hosts a very cool podcast called Dreamchasers. Dreamchasers brings on all sorts of people, from musicians, to artists, to entrepreneurs, to discuss success, motivation, inspiring topics, and goals.
I'm honored to have been invited to be a guest on his show to speak about November Project.
Feel free to watch/listen at the link below, like his Facebook page here, and give him a hug on Wednesday.
